What types of retaining walls do you build?
We build CMU block, natural stone, segmental (Allan Block), timber, and poured concrete walls. The right choice depends on wall height, soil conditions, and aesthetics, we recommend the best fit during your free site visit.
How high can a retaining wall be without a permit in LA?
In LA County, walls under 4 ft (measured from the bottom of the footing) typically don’t need a permit. Walls 4 ft and over require engineering plans and city permits. We handle all permit applications at no extra charge.
Do retaining walls need drainage?
Yes, drainage is critical. Without it, hydrostatic pressure builds behind the wall and causes failure. We install French drains, gravel backfill, and weep holes on every wall we build.
How long do retaining walls last?
A properly built concrete block or natural stone wall lasts 40–100 years. Timber walls last 15–20 years. Every wall we build is covered by our 3-year workmanship warranty.
